The narrowest street in Stockholm is in the Old Town. Wikipedia says: Mårten Trotzigs gränd (Swedish: “Alley of Mårten Trotzig”) is an alley in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Leading from Västerlånggatan and Järntorget up to Prästgatan and Tyska Stallplan, the width of its 37 steps tapers down to a mere 90 centimetres (35 in), making the alley the narrowest street in Stockholm.
This rather creepy design project is in the centre of town. It is a giant, rather ragged pigeon. The square where it is situated is known for its bedragged, rather sick-looking pigeons. I have nothing against pigeons per se (my bonus mother has loads of fantail pigeons as well as many lost racing pigeons) but the ones in the centre of the city give me the creeps.
I am glad Uniqlo mentioned the itch factor. So many lovely-looking garments give you the worst itches. And you don’t realise it until you try them on.
On Nobel Day, the Swedish Airforce always does a Christmas flypast. These are supersonic fighters that fly over several places in Sweden. The noise is incredible and I noticed that quite a few people were a bit jumpy when they heard them coming. We live in rather unstable times.
