For most countries with an IKEA store, the blue IKEA FRAKTA* bag has become iconic. These gems are cheap ($0.99), durable, easy to clean, and great for storing and carrying things around the home. We always have a few around the house, holding recycling or laundry. [FRAKTA means transport or move]

…and for years, people have repurposed them into other durable, useful items
IKEA now has a wider range of similar durable bags in different styles and colours:
- A teeny little keyring bag. I have used mine to hold change, a charger, cards, and tissues.
- A zippered, more square version, which would be great for dust-free long-term storage
- A smaller, square version
- A cooler bag
- A rainbow bag
- And my favourite – a shoulder bag which can also be worn as a cross-body bag. It has nice inside pockets, including a padded pocket for computer or tablet. Approximately $7.
And of course, the yellow store versions you use to carry around your items before purchase. You hardly ever see these outside the stores, because then people would know you pinched them! Although decades ago, you could use the yellow ones to take your items home.
